CHS Athletes Represent
Cheshire
Jonathan
Adderley, Josh Robertson and Beth Jones helped Cheshire finish second overall
in the Mason Trophy Inter Counties Schools’ Athletics Championships at the Alexander
Stadium in Birmingham on Saturday (20th June), competing against
students from ten other counties. The three CHS students did extremely well just
to represent Cheshire in the trophy after impressive performances at the
Cheshire Championships last week.
The athletes
faced wet conditions but the weather did not seem to bother Jonathan Adderley who
finished an impressive second in the discus with a distance of 36.87m, narrowly
missing out on first place by just over two metres.
Josh
Robertson finished 10th in the javelin with a distance of 33.94m.
Beth Jones
finished 17th in the 100m with a time of 13.26 seconds. She was also
part of Cheshire’s relay team that finished fourth in the 4x100m.
Well done to
all three students, who can all be very proud of their achievements.
